Who is Integral Senior Living (ISL)?
Integral Senior Living(ISL) is a senior living community management company with approximately 100 facilities under management.
In our opinion it is clearly obvious that ISL’s operational philosophy, policies, operations and procedures have not evolved to ensure the very safety and security of their residents !
In our opinion it appears that ISL sees these tragedies as a type of collateral damage and simply a cost of doing business and not something to be remedied.
In our opinion they see the remedy being more costly to their bottom line than paying the victims and/or their families for their unforgivable and reprehensible negligence and disregard for their residents !

This public awareness campaign started with the elder abuse of Joann Powers and the efforts of scores of her loved ones to end her forced isolation against her will and to get her the immediate urgent health care she desperately needed to survive! Below you will see the ISL facility in Phoenix, Arizona where the inhumane isolation took place. The Stratford is no longer affiliated with ISL.
After ISL’s tragic and depraved handling of Joann we began to look in to Integral Senior Living and discovered a deluge of illuminating and incriminating information! The lawsuits, settlements and current incidents of negligence displayed above are just a sample of ISL’s grotesque and outrageous wrongdoing!

Video in which Joann’s priest, Father Bill, shares the fact that he was denied visitation after only a couple of visits to Joann by Integral Senior Living staff, at the direction of Joann’s Power of Attorney, her brother Dennis from Haslett, Michigan.
Joann was a loving, vibrant, talented woman who had lived in Phoenix, AZ for the last several decades. She was the leader of and lead singer in her band, The Joann Powers Band, which was immensely popular all over Phoenix and northern Arizona. She and her band would draw packed crowds at intimate venues all over. Joann had many friends and a good number of them dear friends as well as close in-laws.
At a Phoenix gig in late July 2016 she began to forget the lyrics of songs she had sung hundreds of times. Something was wrong and her best friend took her to the ER after the concert.

Integral Senior Living (ISL) settles lawsuit for $1,900,000
joann powers’ saga: the isolation and withholding of life saving medical treatment
Joann Powers’ disastrous and tragic end under ISL’s watch was nothing like those cited in the above lawsuits and actions. In her case ISL was fully aware of the illegal total isolation she was subjected to at the hands of her Power of Attorney (POA), Dennis Kloss. Not only were they aware of it–their on-site personnel were instructed by her POA to effectuate it and the company executives approved that isolation! That isolation tragically prevented her loved ones from advocating for the surgery she wanted which was denied by her Power of Attorney!

Below is an Excerpt from the above cell phone text from Joann to her great friend Ted Reuther communicating to him that she wanted the surgery to remove her brain tumor that was deemed operable by her doctor–Ted was not allowed to visit Joann at The Stratford !
Joann Powers wanted to return to her home. She did not choose to go in to an Integral Senior Living community ! Her POA put her there–below Joann & Jeanette making plans for Joann’s rehab at home after surgery:

After all the planning above Jeanette was never allowed to visit Joann as per her POA’s instructions to ISL staff.
Immediately after those texts with Jeanette Joann’s cell phone was taken away by her POA preventing her from being able to communicate with the outside world.
Communication from Dennis Kloss, Joann’s brother and Power of Attorney stating to her best friend Ted Reuther that he has changed the locks to Joann’s home.

Dennis was lying–Ted was not on the list and was never allowed to see Joann for the 4 months she was at the ISL facility until her death.

Above: a cease and desist letter to Joann’s primary advocate working to free her from total isolation–from Jerome Elwell of Warner Angle Hallam Jackson & Formanek-the high powered law firm Joann’s Power of Attorney hired to gaslight people in trying to make them believe that complete isolation is what Joann Powers wanted. I think the various cell phone texts exhibited above have discredited any notion that Joann Powers did not want to see her loved ones !
